Irene is chairing a session at TERMIS AM 2023

Our proposal for a session on Modelling and Measuring Tissue Aging and Rejuvenation was accepted for the TERMIS Americas 2023 Annual Meeting, which Irene will be chairing. Our keynote speaker will be Dr Vadim Gladyshev from Harvard Medical School and one of the pioneers of epigenetic clocks. We have received support from Transnetyx to develop this session, and are looking forward to it!

"Mending broken hearts" to mark Valentine's Day 2023

Our lab's work on cardiomyocyte reprogramming and cardiac regeneration was highlighted in a news piece in NYU Tandon's website to celebrate Valentine's Day 2023. You can read the article here as well as the preprint in which this reportage is based. Happy Valentine's everyone!

Irene is interviewed at Radio Nacional de España

Irene was interviewed at Radio Exterior (Radio Nacional de España) for the weekly program "Científicos en el Exterior" ("Scientists Abroad") which showcases the work and experiences of Spanish scientists working all over the globe. She discussed her experiences working in Spain, the UK and the US, as well as the plans for the newly founded de Lázaro NanoBioEngineering Lab.

the de Lázaro Lab opens doors in NYC!

January 1, 2023

We are excited to join the Department of Biomedical Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Our lab will officially open doors in January 2023 and will be located at the Bioengineering Institute, at the heart of Manhattan's 1st Avenue and right next to NYU Langone and the hospitals. We will develop and use bioengineering tools to study and manipulate cell fate, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the body's regenerative capacity.

Irene joins NYU Tandon School of Engineering

April 1, 2022

Irene has joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering as a Research Assistant Professor. She will start a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering in January 2023, when the de Lázaro Lab will officially open doors.
