Laura graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Rovira i Virgili (Spain). She then completed a master’s program in Advanced Immunology at the University of Barcelona (Spain). In 2020, she started her PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology in María José Alonso’s group at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where she worked on the development of novel nanosystems for nucleic acid and protein delivery for lung cancer and brain diseases, while implementing radiolabeling strategies for in vivo biodistribution studies using PET imaging. Laura joined our lab in February 2026 as Postdoctoral Research Associate. She leads the nano-formulation efforts in our team, and is currently involved in several projects aimed at developing new nanomedicines for the treatment of cardiac diseases and cancer.
