Ruben is a master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at ETH Zürich, specializing in molecular bioengineering. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghent, where he conducted research on developing a deep learning network trained on phantom images to enhance micro-CT imaging. Ruben joined our lab from September 2025 until March 2026 to undertake one of the research internships required for his master’s program. His research here focused on the design of biomimetic hydrogels to mimic cardiac disease. Upon his return to Switzerland, he continues collaborating remotely with our group, training AI models to accelerate analytical pipelines in the lab.
